English Courses in Vancouver + Stay at a Ranch

The first part of the program (English course) takes place in Vancouver. And the second part (ranch stay) takes place in Kamloops (350 kilometres northeast of Vancouver) in the prairies of British Columbia.

The minimum duration is 4 weeks of classes in Vancouver + 4 weeks at the ranch in Kamloops, and the maximum duration is 6 weeks + 6 weeks.

It is an ideal program for horse enthusiasts. Indeed, you will have the opportunity to work in contact with these animals at the same time as you practice and progress in English. You will participate in the daily tasks of the ranch. The work is usually around the care and maintenance of the horses, for example feeding, walking and sadlling them. But the work can also include tasks typical of country life, cleaning or household chores. You will also have the opportunity to ride a horse, but the hours will vary depending on your level. Beginners do an average of one hour of riding per day and experienced riders up to 3-4 hours.

The minimum age to participate in the program is 17 years old and an upper-intermediate level of English is required. If you do not have this level you can take additional lessons at the English school in Vancouver.

 

Medical English Course

It is a program designed for medical students and medical professionals. Through this course you will learn the terminology of medical English and develop comprehension and speaking skills in this same context. The goal is to be able to communicate effectively with patients and other professionals in order to provide medical care.

The full program (12-week degree) is divided into 3 certificates (4 weeks each). Each certificate will allow you to learn a new vocabulary that you can put into practice through case studies and by describing the conditions of patients. Role-playing games can be adapted to your individual objectives and needs, depending on your professional experience.

The three certificates focus on the human body systems. The first one focuses on pharmacy and test results. The second one specializes in first aid care and surgery. And the third one focuses on personal and specialized care.
